The business is searching for a strong Full Stack Developer to develop and maintain a variety of internal user interfaces, consumer-facing browser scripts, and associated back-ends. You will be working in close collaboration with other software engineers as you interface with numerous internal microservices and contribute input towards their maturity.

The Role

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing customer-facing interfaces.
    • AngularJS single-page applications.
    • Vital consumer-facing web page plug-ins.
    • Enhancing telemetry and tests.
  • Developing a novel Business Intelligence system to:
    • improve availability of internal data;
    • manage access control requests and visualise audit trails;
    • automate business processes.
  • Delivering consistent, robust, predictable software.
  • Consult other software engineers in delivering intuitive customer-facing APIs.
  • You will not be expected to design user experiences beyond no-nonsense usability.

Skills & Requirements

  • Full English proficiency. Eligible to work & live in the UK.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience as a software developer.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • The candidate must show initiative, self-organisation, discipline.
  • Experience in structuring and developing applications from the ground up.
  • Experience with front- and back-ends of SaaS solutions.
  • Experience with application containerisation and continuous integration is a plus.
  • Experience with automated testing software.
  • Experience with at least one UI toolkit (e.g. Bootstrap or Foundation).
  • Good grasp of AngularJS and front-end technologies in general.
  • Good grasp of Python and at least one related back-end technology (e.g. Tornado, Flask).
  • Strong working knowledge of Git.

Hello Soda are looking for a Natural Language Processing Engineer with knowledge of data-driven approaches for multilingual text analysis to join the Data and Analytics team for their flagship product, PROFILE.

You will join a dynamic, young business and work alongside top data scientists and software engineers to build information extraction and text understanding pipelines to identify consumer insights from multilingual social media posts, user reviews and messages, and other unstructured data. You will help us rapidly scope and prototype text processing components, and assist their translation into production by our engineering team.

The Role

You will use statistical and machine learning techniques to analyse large-scale user data, including text data and social media. You will have good experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and text analysis; as you will be applying machine learning techniques for text mining and information extraction based on structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.

This means you’ll be bringing your imagination, love of experimentation, and scripting skills to bear in furthering our goal of building out the greatest depth of understanding as to how to extract actionable insight from user posts.

You will work in a team comprising machine learning, NLP and software engineering experts.

Essential

  • Experience in applied machine learning for multilingual text analysis and natural language processing
  • NLP background in several text analysis tasks: preprocessing, language modelling, named entity recognition & entity linking, information extraction
  • Knowledge of modern NLP tools: spacy.io, Stanford CoreNLP, Keras/Tensorflow
  • Excellent programming skills in one or more of: Python (preferred), Java/Scala or R
