You will be joining a small, highly-skilled team of engineers and data scientists building a unique product. Data is at the heart of the business, and you must have the curiosity and desire to understand how this determines the shape of the software.
Multi-disciplinary collaboration is fundamental to our success, which means that you must be positive in articulating your own ideas, but adaptable in accommodating the ideas and perspectives of others. Ultimately the team’s primary focus is rapid delivery of innovation to our clients.
You must be an excellent Scala developer with good experience in a number of other programming languages and paradigms. If you have equivalent experience in other programming languages, you're strongly encouraged to apply! Understanding of Agile principles and experience working in Agile teams
Any library or framework design experience or open source contributions
Knowledge of Python or R, especially in the context of data analysis and machine learning

The Role

We are looking for a Front-End Developer to help build out our demonstration systems, client-facing UIs and other internal systems to support the commercial aims of the business, and help our products shine. Our ideal candidate will have very strong front-end development skills in a variety of technologies including AngularJS, Bootstrap, and Sass. Previous experience of integrating with RESTful API services is a must.

The successful candidate should have a demonstrable appreciation for good design and a keen attention to detail, with the ability to communicate design solutions to all levels of the business.

Are you the Natural Language Processing Engineer we're looking for?

You will join a dynamic, young business and work alongside top data scientists and software engineers to build information extraction and text understanding pipelines to identify consumer insights from multilingual social media posts, user reviews and messages, and other unstructured data. You will help us rapidly scope and prototype text processing components, and assist their translation into production by our engineering team.

 

 

The Role:

You will use statistical and machine learning techniques to analyse large-scale user data, including text data and social media. You will have good experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and text analysis; as you will be applying machine learning techniques for text mining and information extraction based on structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.

This means you’ll be bringing your imagination, love of experimentation, and scripting skills to bear in furthering our goal of building out the greatest depth of understanding as to how to extract actionable insight from user posts.

You will work in a team comprising machine learning, NLP and software engineering experts.

 

What we'd like to see in the candidate:

Experience in, and good understanding of, applied machine learning for text analysis and natural language processing

NLP background in text mining: preprocessing, language modelling, language identification, named entity recognition, entity linking, information extraction, sentiment analysis

Excellent programming skills in one or more of Python, Java/Scala or R

Working knowledge of using machine learning techniques such as bootstrapping, boosting and sequence tagging for text analysis

Ability to run reproducible experiments and analyse results: from collecting raw data, statistical modelling and performance benchmarking, to packaging working prototypes

Ability to coordinate effectively with team members in engineering, design, and product management

Results oriented person with a delivery focus and the ability to solve data problems incrementally

  • Recurrent Neural Networks models for text understanding (from word embeddings to sequence to sequence models)
